The summer loop by car, July 23 – August 10. Then Boston, New York, and home. Every other folder is its own city: the earlier visits, each Alaska port, Tokyo through Mount Fuji, Budapest, Berlin, Shanghai, and Cusco.

Start: Santa Monica, California — July 22/23, 2026

Northernmost: Green Bay / Minneapolis / Yellowstone region
Finish: San Marino, California via Cambria (Highway 1 / Big Sur en route) — August 9–10, 2026
You crossed deserts, plains, the Midwest, the Badlands, Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Devil's Tower, Yellowstone, the Pacific Northwest, and the California coast. Hotels ranged from Hyatt Regency Tulsa and the Tiger Hotel in Columbia to the Irma in Cody and The Aspen in West Yellowstone. Nights included concerts in Bend, rodeos in Cody, river walks in Chicago, and late drives through vineyards and mountains.
Chapter two — September 18–26, 2026: flew LAX to Boston (downtown, Cambridge, the North Shore), a Cape Air twin-prop down to Long Island, three days in New York from Union Square to Williamsburg, then home through JFK to a night at the Comedy Store.
Earlier visits: St. George, Long Island (2011–2023), San Francisco, Washington DC, Austin, Long Beach, Nashville, and Fire Island. Las Vegas, August 23–26, 2024 and February 12–13, 2025 — the Strip at night, the Sphere, a hall of robots. Raleigh, September 27–29, 2024, a wedding in Apex. Channel Islands and Oxnard, December 26–28, 2024. Oakland on September 30 and October 26, 2025, either side of Japan.
Alaska and Vancouver, July 24 – August 3, 2024: Anchorage, Seward, Hubbard Glacier, Juneau, Skagway, Sitka, Ketchikan, then Vancouver.
Japan, October 2025: Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, and Mount Fuji, each its own city. Budapest and Berlin, July 2012. Shanghai, spring 2014. Cusco, September 2016.
